Adding incentives

Offer various discounts and gift to your customers. By offering flexible incentives, customers are more likely to purchase your products.

Incentives such as limited-time discounts and shipping discounts for both customer and guest accounts can be created through this menu.

There are two types of incentives: discounts and gifts.

  • Discounts: Price discounts including limited-time discounts, returning customer discounts, and shipping discounts.
  • Gifts: Freebies including free gifts and Buy one get X free incentives.

Incentive types

  • Change Set Validity to Yes to select the validity of the incentive. (Limited-time discounts, Shipping discounts)

  • Using Eligible customer group, you can decide whether to provide incentives to all customers or to customers of a certain customer level. Customer discounts cannot be given to guests.

  • If you want to provide incentives for individual products, use Applicable products to apply discounts to products.

  • Returning customer discount can be given to customers who purchase the same product or variant multiple times. Enter the minimum number of purchases in Requirement for repeat purchase. (Available for customers only.)

  • Bulk order discount can be given to customers who purchase products in bulk. Enter the Minimum and Maximum number of products or variants in Requirement for purchase amount.

  • New product discount can be used to push new products for a limited time. Choose how many days/hours the discount will last, starting from the date on which the product was added/edited/displayed.

  • Shipping fee discount can be given to customers unconditionally or when they spend over a certain amount. If you change Set requirement to No, the shipping fee will be set as 0 regardless. When set to Yes, you can set the Minimum order total (before discount) for the shipping fee to be 0.

  • Gifts is used to provide free gifts when all requirements have been met. Gifts for first orders can only be used for customers and not guests. You can enter the requirements in Requirement for purchase amount. You can change the calculation method for this feature using the Calculate eligibility setting in Promotions>Incentives>Settings.
    • For all products: Gifts are provided if a customer purchases one or more eligible products and the total order amount falls within the eligibility range.
    • Based on products with incentives: Gifts are provided if a customer's total order amount falls within the eligibility range.
  • Buy one Get X free can be used to push product purchases by encouraging the customer to buy X amount of products.

Discount amount when applying discount incentives

Depending on how you configure the incentive rule on your admin page, the discount amount will change.

1. Go to Promotions>Incentives>Create incentive.

2. Under Details, configure your Incentive rule.

  • Purchase amounts are rounded based on the discounted amount.

e.g.)

  • Product price: USD 36.10
  • Discount: 15%
  • Rounding: Round up to nearest 0.1

In this example, 15% of USD 36.10 is USD 5.41; When rounding the discount, the incentive amount becomes USD 5.5. So the actual discounted price is USD 36.10 - USD 5.50 = USD 30.60.

Buy one Get X free and Gifts

Except for the first product, all other additional quantities are calculated as costing 0. Therefore, the sales quantity of the product is counted as one set, and the user can only purchase multiples of a set.
e.g., Buy one, get one free has two products in a set. Therefore, users can only purchase 2, 4, or 6 products, all multiples of 2.
The quantity cannot be changed in the shopping cart.

  1. Go to Promotions>Incentives>Create incentive.

: If the Gift selection option is set to Allow customers to select, you can select products with options or variants and set required gift points for each gift. However, you can only configure required gift points and enable the Maximum number of gifts option when the Number of gifts allowed setting is set to Two or more in Promotions>Incentives>Settings. : Required gift points is a feature that sets a price for a gift, so that customers can only select free gifts that aren't valued higher than the total amount paid by the customer. In other words, required gift points is the price of the free gift.
e.g., If the total amount of the purchase is $100, and there is Gift A ($10), Gift B ($101), and Gift C ($99); the customer will not be able to select a gift worth more than the total amount, and therefore can only select A or C as a gift.
: If you save the incentive without entering a value for the required gift points, the points will be configured as the same as the gift's original price.
: If you want to set a different gift point value for a specific gift, enter the value in the required gift point field for the product and save it.
: If you want to set the same gift point value for all or multiple gifts, select the checkboxes next to the products, and click Apply required gift points in bulk. Enter the gift point value and click Save.
