Product and category limits

To ensure optimal system performance, Cafe24 has set limits on the number of products and categories that can be added to your store. 

Product limits: Up to 100,000 products

  • The combined total of products in ProductsProduct list and ProductsManage productsRemoved products must remain under the maximum limit. 
  • Removed products can still affect system performance. If you no longer need them, we recommend permanently deleting them..

Category limits: Up to 3,000 categories 

  • The category limit applies to the total number of all categories, including those set as Not on display.

What happens if I exceed the limit?

  • If you exceed the limit, you will not be able to add more products or categories.

  • All actions related to adding products, such as using Quick settings or Advanced settings, importing via CSV, or duplicating products, will be restricted.  

  • To add more products, you must delete unused ones until the total falls below the limit. 

 

Note

  • Restrictions are not applied immediately but will be implemented gradually. 

 

Why am I seeing an alert notification about the number of product categories? 

  • We display alert notifications to stores nearing the limit to help manage your products and categories. 

  • You can view the current number of products and categories on Dashboard, so be sure to check it to stay within the limit..

 

Does this limit apply to YouTube Shopping as well?

  • Yes, the same limit applies to YouTube Shopping.  

  • If you delete products from your default store, the corresponding products will also be deleted from YouTube Shopping. Simply monitoring the total number of products and categories in your default store will ensure everything remains in order..

 

Does this limit apply to the number of variants? 

  • No, this limit does not apply to variants.  

  • However, the number of variants you can add per product is already limited to 1,000. Please note that adding too many variants may also impact system performance. 

 

Is there a daily limit? 

  • No, there is no daily limit on the number of products or categories you can add. 

  • However, you can import up to 1,000 products at a time via CSV. 

  • Keep in mind that adding or deleting a large number products at once can impact system performance.
